Enable / Disable Registry Editing Tool

Sometimes because of a virus or some software, the registry editing tool "regedit" ( Accessed by Start >> Run >> "regedit" ), gets disabled. This is quite irritating as you get this message when you try to access "regedit".

Also sometimes, you might want to restrict users to change registry.

Here is a solution for the same :
  • Open gpedit tool ( Start >> Run >> "gpedit.msc" )
  • Navigate to User Configuration >> Administrative Templates >> System
  • On the right side double click on "Prevent Access To Registry Editing Tools".
  • Select Enable/ Disable and you are done.
